The Hurricane Brassband was the first "offshoot" of Danny Barkerīs Young
Fairview Baptist Church Brass band. Leroy Jonnes, the leader of the both
bands was the first member of the Fairview brass band, chosen by Mr. Danny
Barker.
After Leroy embarked on a solo career, Darryl Adams continued this band
under the name Tornado Brass Band.

1975:
Greg Stafford and Leroy Jones of the Hurricane Brass Band. This
view shows two young trumpet players from the Hurricane Brass Band: Greg
Stafford on the left and Leroy Jones on the right. Other unidentified band
members can be seen in the background. The Hurricane Brass Band was
organized in the 1970s as an outgrowth of the Fairview Baptist Church
Band. Most of the teenagers in the band later became professional
musicians.
The Hurricane Brassband recorded at March 1 & 2, 1975
under the name "Leroy Jones and his Hurricane Marching Brass Band of New
Orleans. The record was issued on lo An records.
