Hans Peter, everybody calls him HP, is a big fan and long time player of New Orleans Music. Professor Longhair and Dr. John are his two idols. In the time HP was at college to be a music teacher, he made his first stage experience as a piano player in de Jazz scene of Bonn (Germany).

Between 1983 and 1993 HP was the piano player of the Sun Lane LTD New Orleans Jazzband Aachen. From 1994 until 2004 he played the piano with the New Orleans Heartbreakers. They won in 1994 the Sidney Bechet Silver Award in St. Rafael, France.

In 1995 he was honoured as freeman of New Orleans.

Nowadays he's the bandleader of the „Echoes of N’Awlins“, Funky R&B band, and freelancer at the piano.
In the spring of 2007 he came into the Hurricane Brassband and plays the snare drum.
