As a brass band musician he played with: George Williams, Onward, Tulane, Tuxedo Brass Band

He began his musical career about 1929. In 1931 he organized with Albert Jiles the Crescent City Serenaders. He played with most of the best bands in town since and was frequently in parades, especially with the George Williams Brass Band.16
