As a brass band musician he played with: Eureka, George Williams, Imperial, Tuxedo, Onward Brass Band

His first job, playing the snare drum, was with the Tuxedo Brass Band in 1920. In the early 20's he worked with the Sam Morgan band. from 1925 until 1927 with Manuel Perez and joined A.J. Piron on the S.S. Capitol in 1929. he left new Orleans in 1936 and returned in 1951. He also played in the 50's with the Eureka Brass Band.16
