As a brass band musician he played with:

Born as Dee Chandler.
Drummer
Dee Dee Chandler of the John Robichaux Orchestra--covering for an absent second
drummer--performed on two drums simultaneously. Chandler fashioned a makeshift
pedal to play the bass drum with his foot while using sticks to play the snare
drum. This must have been in the late 1880s or early 1890s.
He was with John
Robicheaux before the Spanish-American War.16
