As a brass band musician he played with: Excelsior, Henry Allen, Pacific Brass Band

In 1910 he was a member of the Olympia Orchestra and the Excelsior Brass Band. He left New Orleans with the Original Creole Orchestra, led by Bill Johnson, for a vaudeville tour. He remained North thereafter.16
