Born as Edouard Clem
He was an almost blind, one-eyed musician. Before the Spanish-American War he
played with Charlie Galloway's orchestra and a group led by Wallace Collins.
Edward replaced Buddy Bolden, when Frank Duson took control of the band. He also
marched sometimes with the Onward and Excelsior Brass Band.16
