As a brass band musician he played with: Eureka, Lions, Henry "Kid" Rena, Tulane, Young Tuxedo Brass Band

He began his career with Edward Clem in 1910.Was in the Crescent Orchestra in 1913 and joined the Silver Leaf Orchestra until WW I. He was with the Lions Brass Band and later with the Young Tuxedo.16
