As a brass band musician he played with: Camelia, Herald Dejan's Olympia, Eureka, Kid Howard, Tuxedo Brass Band

He was a pupil of Edward Gaspard, and began with Holcamp's touring carnival in 1908. In 1918-19 he played with Wooden Joe Nicholas.16
