As a brass band musician he played with: Onward, Tuxedo Brass Band

Early drummer with Buddy Bolden band 1900. He worked frequetly with Edward Clem and Manuel Manetta in the years around 1906-07. Joined Duson's Eagle band in 1908, played in the Olympia Orchestra with A.J. Piron in 1913-14 and was at Pete Lala's with King Oliver in 1916. Just before his death he was working with the Original Tuxedo Orchestra.16
