As a brass band musician he played with:
Henry "Kid" Rena Brass Band
Younger brother of Henry "Kid" Rena.
He jobbed around with Henry Rena while in hid early teens. He played with Wesley
Don's Liberty Bell Orchestra in 1920 and was with his brother's Dixie jazz band
in 1923 and 1924. He recorded with Henry in 1940 and stayed with him until 1945,
when he retired from music to become an Evangelical Baptist preacher.16
