As a brass band musician he played with: Johnny Fischer's, Reliance Brass Band

Brother of Manuel John (1886) and Sanford (about 1901) and son in law of Jack Laine.

He played occasional in dance bands, but was best known as performer with Jack Laine's Reliance Brass Band in the pre WW I days. In 1907 he played in Johnny Fischer's Brass Band.16
