As a brass band musician he played with:

Eagle,
Kid Howard,
Tuxedo, Brass Band
Thanks to the enterprise of Victor Recording Company in
1927, when they took a roving recording microphone around the south and mid-west
of America, we have authentic New Orleans jazz from
Dumaines' Jazzola Eight
which gives us an idea of real New Orleans jazz long before the revival of
interest in this music brought forth a spate of re-creations.
He played in the Tuxedo Brass Band in the early and mid-20's. He
led the WPA Band in 1935 and the ERA Orchestra in 1936. He also had his own
brass band.16
