* Ca 1890 New Orleans, La.
† Ca 1949 New Orleans, La.

As a brass band musician he played with: Allen, Louis Dumaine's, Eagle, Kid Howard, Tuxedo, Brass Band

Thanks to the enterprise of Victor Recording Company in 1927, when they took a roving recording microphone around the south and mid-west of America, we have authentic New Orleans jazz from Dumaines' Jazzola Eight which gives us an idea of real New Orleans jazz long before the revival of interest in this music brought forth a spate of re-creations

He played in the Tuxedo Brass Band in the early and mid-20's. He led the WPA Band in 1935 and the ERA Orchestra in 1936. He also had his own brass band.16
