As a brass band musician he played with: Excelsior, Onward, Reliance, Tuxedo Brass Band

He was with the Excelsior Brass Band in 1880's. Was mainly a concert musician and turned to jazz after 1910. He worked in the district with Manuel Manetta, Peter Bocage, Henry Peyton. He also played in dance bands with John Robichaux, A.J. Piron.16
