As a brass band musician he played with:
Eagle,
Imperial,
Pacific,
Tuxedo Brass Band
He began in 1906 with Tom Albert, and was member of a notable
family. Before 1910 he played with Buddy Bolden, Frankie Duson and Edward Clem.
He was with Tom Albert and the Original Tuxedo Orchestra until 1913 when he
tried his luck in Chicago, but soon returned to New Orleans.During WW I he was
with Papa Celestin and Jow Howard at the Villa Cabaret. In 1919 he was with
Edward "Kid" Ory in California and during the 20's on saxophone with Manuel
Perez.16
