As a brass band musician he played with: Chris Kelly's, Young Tuxedo, George Williams Brass Band.

He played in 1925 with Elton Theodore's band. Occasionally with Kid Howard, Kid Clayton, Charlie Love, Albert Jiles and Louis Keppard. During the 40's and 50's he was with the George Williams and Young Tuxedo brass band.16
