As a brass band musician he played with:
Excelsior,
Onward,
Tuxedo
Brass Band
He began at Rice Cafe and 101 Ranch in the district, 1917. Later with
Maple leaf Orchestra and the Excelsior Brass Band. He was with fate
Marable on S.S. Capitol, 1922 and through most of 20's he led his own band
on the Island Queen, New Orleans - Cincinnati. In 1946 he moved to
California.16
