As a brass band musician he played with:

Eureka,
Excelsior,
Kid Howard,
George Williams Brass Band
Youngest brother of:
Ramos and
Nathaniel "Bébé".
Bill made his debut in 1917 with the Excelsior Brass Band and in the dance
orchestra of Jack Williams. he took up trombone in the early 20's and studied
with Vic Gaspard. Toured with Jelly Roll Morton and went back to
Desvigne on the steamship Island
Queen. In 1927, again in New Orleans, he played with
Ridgley's section of
the Original Tuxedo Orchestra and recorded with
Papa Celestin.16
